The Rock Kendo and Iaido Club is excited to host a Jodo Seminar with Maya Wilson Sensei on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Maya Wilson is 5th Dan in Jodo, and 3rd Dan in ZNKR Iaido; she began training in both arts in 2010 under Kim Taylor Sensei, and presently continues her training with Dave Green Sensei in Ottawa, Ontario. In addition to regular practice of Jodo and Iaido, Maya has experience in other Budo arts including Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu and Kendo, and since 2019 has held the position of Vice President of Jodo Canada.

Fee: $30 ($20 for students)

Who May Attend: All are welcome however children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or other legal guardian, and those under the age of 19 must have a parent or other legal guardian available at registration.

Prerequistes: No prequisite physical or martial arts training is required.

Registration: Registration will take place at the beginning of the session. Those wishing to pre-register, may send an e-transfer to:

Attire: If you do not have a gi (traditional martial arts uniform), a long-sleeve sweat shirt and sweat pants are recommended.

Street shoes are not permitted in the dojo (practice area), so it is recommended that attendees have sandals or socks to enter the gym.

Once inside, practice is usually performed with bare feet.

Equipment: If you have a bokken (wooden sword) and/or a jo (wooden staff) please bring them/it with you.

(We have wooden weapons to share on a "first come, first serve" basis.)

Masking: Masking is recommended but not mandatory.
